Wardens of Glow v0.3.0


A few important changes for this version:

  • The control system is completely changed, and wardens are now instead moved with a more RTS styled approach with mouse control. In addition to controlling a warden by selecting and right-clicking a destination, wardens can also be multi-selected and move in group.
  • Wardens will no longer endlessly spawn each minute, instead, reinforcements will arrive when the stored glow in the lantern reach certain numbers. 
  • Enemies will spawn in waves and be a bit more balanced between plays. At the start of each wave, you will be able to see where the strongest section of the enemy force will arrive from, and position your wardens accordingly.

  • Multiple wardens can be selected with shift, box or ctrl+a commands
  • Damaged enemies will display a health bar
  • Wardens can be healed by collecting glow
  • Wardens powered by glow will have reduced casting time
  • Wardens powered by glow will have increased range
  • Added WoG mouse cursor
  • Added in-game menu
  • Added snow effect
  • "Played Time" tracked in the debug overlay
  • "Debug sun" as console command will toggle an ambient light
  • "Glow X" console command can be used to instantly spawn X amount of uncollected glow
  • "Heal X Y" console command to heal the warden called X by Y amount
  • "Damage X Y" console command to damage the warden called X by Y amount

Changes

  • Switched control system from keyboard to mouse
  • The distance allowed to backtrack has been increased
  • Range for lantern to pickup glow is greatly reduced
  • Changed binding for warden teleportation from left-mouse to middle-mouse
  • Wardens no longer spawn at a time intervall, but by storing glow in the lantern
  • Wardens magic effects will change as their power increase by carrying glow
  • The base damage of wardens has been reduced
  • The base case time of wardens has been reduced
  • The base attack range of wardens has been reduced
  • Damaged enemies will be temporary stunned
  • The enemy generation system is remade and the game is built around waves
  • The oblivion speed has been increased
  • Changed font for post-game quotes

Fixed bugs

  • Fixed bug causing lantern to shift position while collecting glow
  • Fixed bug causing lantern to be inaccessible if left behind to far away
  • Fixed bug causing level generation to sometimes generate new level sections late
  • Fixed bug causing the level to fade in before completely loaded
